Anil Dumasia | Master of Photography (M.NZIPP I)
PHOTOGRAPHY HAS ALWAYS PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT PART IN MY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIVES. AS A PASSIONATE DESIGNER & PHOTOGRAPHER, CREATING IMAGES HAS BECOME A NATURAL EXTENSION OF MY CREATIVE EXPRESSION.
Photography is immediate, challenging, often frustrating, but always satisfying. Apart from my 'corporate photography gigs', I am always challenging myself and learning new things. The images I create are of things that interest me, be it studio and environmental portraits or beautiful landscapes.
A brief background: I was raised and educated in the West Midlands of England. After achieving my BA(Hons) Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Design, I worked at some notable design studios in the UK, the Netherlands and Singapore. During my career, I have worked on a number of high-profile accounts and gained valuable experience in design strategies and the visual communication of corporate brands, their products and services.
Eventually, I set up and operated a successful design studio for six years in Central London. However, in 2001, the ‘travel bug’ hit me, and I immigrated to New Zealand. After a couple of years working for an Auckland design studio, I once again set up my own design business but this time offering photography as part of the mix. Photography has become not only a personal passion but also a significant part of my commercial output.
I continually strive for excellence, and as a result of peer reviews of my photography work and awards, I am an Accredited Professional Photographer and have achieved Master of Photography with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (M.NZIPP I).
Meet the wife!
My wife, Kirsty Mason, is my biggest fan and will often assist as a second shooter, stylist, people wrangler, voice activated light stand and general gofer on photo shoots. She is pretty handy behind the camera too!
